Hi,

How do you build up karma on Echo JS? There have been a few entries that I wanted to vote up but have been unable to.

Do I need to post a few first before I can up vote?

AFAIK you need to click on the links on the EchoJS page itself (not the links in the RSS feed). I haven't looked at the source code, but it looks like every few hours you get an extra point if you click on a least one link.

Annoyingly when you downvote a link you lose 5 points, no matter how much karma you have, so you will quickly lose it all if you start downvoting spam. Then you have to wait a few days until you accumulate it again.

Btw, on my mobile the up and down vote buttons are small enough and close enough that i managed to downvote stuff accidentally when actually i wanted to vote up - Karma lost, downvote on a rather good article and it's even persisted - argh! :)

Funny, you can only dislike a post with a certain amount of karma.

I checked again - and it was def on a like (or up vote)

I have noticed though that I have karma now after posting this, and it drops each time I up vote something, so I guess thats the correlation
