It's a simple state machine, which seems okay... not sure why one would practically choose this library over say Zustand.

Yes! Redux as well is kinda 30 lines of implementation and so powerful! 

It's a good point, and I would say most of the apps would prefer Zustand; however gampeplate is indeed a great choice for games development because of its simplicity, compatibility with most of the rendering stack, helpful examples and demos on "how to"
