How often do you update the Node version of your app? Have you ever got stuck with some version (by compat reasons or something like that)? If so, what was the reason? Did you manage to create a plan for updating it?

Not upgrading your dependencies on a regular basis is usually the issue that makes you stuck with a certain node version.
The longer you wait the more time you spend on fixing things.

`npm/yarn outdated` helps you find new version quickly. I do this weekly.

If it's about node.js itself then only once because of edge.js http://tjanczuk.github.io/edge/#/. It use binaries build for specific version of node.js. There was upgrade path - custom build.
